Who is ProtectEd MB?
When confronted with Bill 64 and its regressive, antidemocratic education reforms that attack students and marginalized communities, a group of teachers got together to form ProtectEdMb to fight for progressive education reforms.
As educators, we care deeply about our students, and we have always kept in mind that our students’ living conditions are teachers' working conditions.
So, when we officially launched our #RedForEdMB T-shirt Campaign, it was only natural that we would use our first big event to raise money for a progressive education reform: free universal nutrition programs in schools.
Bill 64 is just the beginning. We need to keep advocating, building networks of solidarity, and working together to ensure that our students and children get the education that they deserve.
